Step 1: Watch the video below.

Step 2: Find some kitchen items that you can use as percussion instruments.
 
Step 3: Practice the rhythms below. Note that at the end of each is a repeat.  In other words, you must clap (and count) through the first rhythm twice before going to the second rhythm and clapping through that one twice.  Work towards smooth clapping.

Step 4: After practicing the rhythms with clapping, play it on your kitchen utensil or other object you found around the house.


Bonus:
Have members of your house play along on their own kitchen percussion instrument.  
Try playing the two rhythms at the same time with the repeat.
Record yourself playing the rhythms, with the repeats, on those instruments. Send it to Mrs. C.
