Left Coast Power Yoga: 2025 Teacher Training Application: RYT - 200
Hello Yogi! Thank you for your interest in Yoga Teacher Training at Left Coast Power Yoga. The application below asks you to share a little about yourself, and outlines the demands—and limits—of the program. Please read this over carefully, and do some contemplation about it before you send in your application.

The training has 4 components:

1. “Every Other Weekend” Format at our Laurel Studio:

Jan 17th - 18th
Feb 1st - 2nd
Feb 15th - 16th
March 1st - 2nd
March 15th - 16th
March 29th - 30th
April 12th - 13th
April 26th - 27th
May 10th - 11th

Weekend Times: Saturday + Sunday 12:00 - 7:00pm (meal break 3-4pm)
Attendance requirements (important) You may miss two full days without penalty. If you miss more than that, you must make up additional time in a private session at the rate of one hour for every 3 hours missed. The rate for a private session is $100/hour.  There is no splitting or sharing of private sessions. Therefore, if between Jan 17th and May 11th you have a lot or travel planned on our Training Weekends, this is NOT the appropriate time to take YTT.

2. We will also meet EVERY THURSDAY from 6:30 - 7:45pm at our Grand Ave studio. You may miss two of these with no penalty.

There are 9 weekends of 14 hours each (126 hours) plus 20 hours of Thursday night meetings for a total of 146 contact hours. If you miss more than 20 contact hours, you cannot make up the hours, and we cannot give you a teaching certificate, even if you have paid for your training.

3. Each student is required to fulfill a weekly 2 hour Yoga Intern shift at one of our studios. This can include checking-in classes, assisting a teacher, and other help around the studio to give back to the general yogi community. We recommend doing your weekly shift around a class you regularly attend, and supporting a teacher you would like to mentor with. You will be signed in and out by staff to make sure this requirement is fulfilled.

4. Each student is required to attend two Left Coast Power Yoga classes per week, minimum during the period of training (approximately 45 hours of classes). You will be granted an Unlimited Membership during the time of the training. This requirement is self-paced.

5. Homework: There will be short written homework assignments after some our sessions, totaling about 1/2 hour each week, for a total of around 10 hours of homework.

6. We have both Pay In Full and Payment Plans available, with a discount given for paying in full and committing early:

Your First and Last Name and pronouns: *
Did any of our Left Coast Instructors refer you to this program? If you are comfortable sharing their name so we might thank them, please do so!

After reading the Program Requirements and consulting your calendar, do you feel that you can make this time commitment in 2025? *
Do you understand that if you do not complete all Program Requirements, or miss too many of our Contact Hours, or are not reliable as a Yoga Intern,  you may not receive a certificate? *
Psychological Requirements: Teaching yoga, and being trained to teach yoga, requires emotional maturity, resilience, and stability. Teacher Training is usually a small group of 12-20 people who are together for up to 180 hours. Interpersonal conflicts inevitably rise and fall, as in any small group. Additionally, some of the material will be simple and accessible to you, and some of it will be deeply unintuitive and challenging. We make every effort to empower your learning and create a harmonious learning environment. Do you feel that you are emotionally prepared to take on Yoga Teacher Training? *
Future Expectations: We are honored that students put their trust in us to provide them with a quality Yoga Teacher Training. We have a lot of confidence in our our program. However, we want to be clear from the outset that completion of the program is no guarantee that you will be offered employment at Left Coast Power Yoga. Are you comfortable with the idea that graduating from the Teacher Training Program does not necessarily mean that you will be offered employment? *
Please write 2-3 paragraphs on why you’d like to participate in this program. This simple act of writing down your intentions can be greatly illuminating to you and to the trainers. We will contact you after we have reviewed the application. Thank you for filling this out! *
