About Oslo Dragskole

OSLO DRAGSKOLE IS A SCHOOL OF THE ARTS THAT IS PROVIDING EVENING AND WEEKEND CLASSES IN THE ART OF DRAG. THE SCHOOL WAS FOUNDED IN 2023 BY KATINKA STEENSGAARD, ALSO KNOWN AS ELEKTRA PUZZZ IN THE NORWEGIAN DRAG COMMUNITY. SHE WANTED TO MAKE DRAG MORE AVAILABLE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LEARN MORE OR DO DRAG THEMSELVES.

IN ITS FIRST YEAR THE SCHOOL HAVE HELD COURSES WITHIN: DRAGKINGMAKEUP, DRAGQUEENMAKEUP, HUMOR AND STAND UP, ABJECT AND WITHIN CREATURE MAKE- UP WITH CHARITY KASE, KNOWN FROM RUPAULS DRAGRACE UK.

Welcome to Oslo Dragskole
We hope you will find one or several courses that you like! Everyone over 18 years are welcome to take our courses, whether you identity as queer or not.

Where can you find us?
Oslo, Norway. All of the spring semesters courses will take place at Torshovloftet at Torshov (changes can occur). At Torshovloftet we have a whitebox we use for courses. There is also a kitchen and toilet. The venue is in the upper floor and is an old building, with only access via floors. (no elevator)

Katinka Steensgaard AKA Elektra Puzzz in drag is a well known artist, producer and member of the drag community in Oslo. She started doing drag in 2013, and is an educated teacher within drama and theater, writing her masters degree about drag. Previously she has taught at Draglinja at Arbeiderbevegelses FHS and Kunsten å dragge at Oslo Met.

  • WE BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT TO TEACH AND INFORM ABOUT THE HISTORY AND THE QUEER CONTEXT OF DRAG

  • WE WANT TO MAKE A SAFE AND INCLUDING SPACE WHILE LEARNING AND BEING TOGETHER. THIS MEANS THAT WE DO NOT TOLERATE ANY KIND OF -ISMS. SUCH AS RACISM, FATPHOBIA, HOMO-BI- TRANS-PROBIA, AGEISM AND SEXISM.

Oslo Dragskole sponsers one spot per course. The following courses have already sponsored a spot and we have closed the applications for these:  both abject courses and Club Kid make up) What does it means that we sponsor a spot? This means that if you now don´t have the means to pay for a course you can apply for a sponsered spot. Note that you have to be 18 years and motivated to qualify. It will not be announced who gets a sponsered spot. Write here which course/courses you wish to apply for and a bit about yourself and your motivation behind applying. If we receive several applications for a course, we will make a decision based on motivation and the idea that several should get the opportunity. You will get a confirmation from us via mail that we have received your application, and will know if you get the spot or not 7 days before the actual course at the latest. Note that courses can also be canceled due to few participants, illness etc.

Rules of Conduct at Oslo Dragskole *
To ensure that Oslo Dragskole is a positive and safe place for all to attend courses, have we enlisted some rules of conduct for all participants to follow. By agreeing to have read and understood the rules you are agreeing to follow these rules and contribute in a positive way to the social environment during courses. Breaching the rules repeatedly will lead to you potentially losing your right to attend your course, even though you have already payed for the course and the course have started. 

  • Everyone attending Oslo Dragskole are to treat and talk to other participant and teachers in a nice way, and to contribute as best as one has the ability to- to a healthy, positive, including and safe place for all to be in
  • There is a no-tolerance policy for racism, homophobia, sexism, body commenting and so on
  • Do you break the rules, you are in risk of loosing your course spot
  • Always ask to take picture of others, you need to collect consent before sharing pictures of others online
  • Drag is an art form that has been developed in queer communities, and is therefore an art form that has a queer context. All participants and teachers are to respect and seek knowledge about the art form and its background
Oslo Dragskole Registration Rules *
10 % Discount on total purchase when signing up for two or more courses at the same time.

By saying you have read and understood the Registration Rules at Oslo Dragskole and by sending in this form, you are agreeing to the rules that are here listed. 

The Rules are made in place so that registration and payment will be mutually safe and reliable for both parties. It is also set in place so that the management and guest teachers that work at Oslo Dragskole will have some predictability in their work as freelancers. An example is that if we have not received payment, this could affect the teachers, or if one pull out from the course the last minute, others may have lost the opportunity to attend that same course. 

  • Registration is binding, and your course spot/spots are only secured after registered payment
  • Registrations for a course closes 7 days before the date of the course (unless other is listed in the info of the course)
  • You have the responsibility for paying your invoice before the due date. The due date for a payment is (if not anything else is agreed upon with Oslo OsloDragskole) 7 days at the latest before a course. This is because if someone has not payed and secured their spot, another on waiting list will have the chance to attend the course, and also to secure our teachers. Are there enough spots filled in the course to see it through?
  • If you wish to cancel your registration (or refund if you already have payed), you need to send a written mail that is received and read by Oslo Dragskole 7 days before the course at the latest
  • If you no longer wish to attend the course, and it´s less than 7 days before the course, you are not eligible for refunding. You also have to pay the fee of the course even though you are not attending
  • Only absence that can show to a medical certificate from a doctor (legeærklæring) are eligible for refund
  • It is limited spots on each course, even though you fill out this form. It is a mail from Oslo Dragskole that will confirm that you are registered. And your payment of the class to secure your final spot.
  • If the course has not enough people registered for the class, the course could be cancelled. If you already have payed, you will be refunded in whole
  • Oslo Dragskole does not refund if you are absent because of: shorter period of sickness (uten legeerklæring), problems with transportation, force majeure and other reasons that are beyond Oslo Dragskoles control
  • Oslo Dragskole is not responsible for injuries that occur to, during, or after our courses, and is not responsible for lost/stolen/broken personal items
  • If you sign up for more than one course at the same time, you will activate 10% discount on your entire purchase
  • After signing up you will, as soon as we can, get an email confirming we have received your registration. Before the course you will also get a more detailed mail with more information about the course, from the teacher of the class. You will also get a reminder of the course the day before the course.
  • We have the possibility to offer down payment/delbetaling. If you wish this you must choose this later on in this form. Then we will together decide your payments. There are no extra costs, but note that a mutual agreed sum must be payed before the course
