In the face of ongoing human rights violations and violence in Gaza, the need for dedicated activists has never been more critical. Are you ready to stand up against injustice and be a part of the efforts to end the violations in Gaza? Here's your chance to be a catalyst for change as a Gaza Regional Representative with Amnesty International Australia!
π Purpose:
As an integral part of our campaign, we're on the lookout for dedicated activists across Australia to step up as Gaza Regional Representatives. Your mission? To be the driving force behind organising and mobilising efforts in your region.Β Some of the things you can do include being the point of contact for protests, rallying people for webinars and events, and collaborating with stakeholders and Palestinians on the ground to make a tangible difference.
π Role Descriptions:
We encourage autonomy with Gaza actions, but as a Gaza Regional Representative, some of the things you can work on include:

Create local events to raise awareness and make impact
β
Mobilise communities to attend webinars, protests and events
β
Collaborate with stakeholders and Palestinians on the ground
β
Provide organising suggestions tailored to your region's needs
β
Coordinate and lead actions in your region
Requirements and expectations:
- Initial Meeting: There will be an initial meeting for introductions, campaign overview and idea sharing onΒ Tuesday, 19 March 2024.Β
- You need to be an Amnesty Activist to be an Amnesty Gaza Representative. If you're not an Amnesty Activist, please email betty.desalegn@amnesty.org.au.
- Urgency and Action: We are looking for individuals who understand the urgency of the situation in Gaza and are committed to taking tangible action.
- Fortnightly Meetings: Regular meetings are essential for effective coordination. Be prepared to participate in fortnightly meetings actively.
- Communication Channels: We may utilise platforms like WhatsApp or Slack for real-time communication and collaboration.
- Representatives per region: we are aiming to have 2-3 representatives per region, but we'll work as a team.

ποΈ 6-Month Anniversary Day of Action: Contribute to a powerful day of activism.
π Weekly/Fortnightly Ground Events: Collaborate with groups like APAN for sustained impact.
π Support Palestine-Led Actions: Be a voice for justice.
Please note this is not an ongoing volunteer role and will be tailored to advocacy needs for Gaza. At this stage the group will meet regularly until May and will adapt as needed.
