NASP is an in-school archery curriculum that teaches international-style target archery to improve educational performance and promote participation in archery. Schools are equipped with everything needed to create an indoor archery range and educators are certified to teach the curriculum safely. The curriculum was written by education and conservation experts to meet education standards and have an emphasis on safety.
Why NASP?
- Annually, 1.3 million students participate in NASP programs in 8,891 schools
- 40% of participants are more engaged in the classroom
- 58% report feeling more connected to their school
- 91% of participants pursue other outdoor activities
- NASP equipment is highly standardized and designed to be safe, durable, and have a universal fit for every student
- NASP can grow into a competitive sport with regional and national tournaments
A school set of NASP equipment costs $3,200, which includes bows, target, arrows, target backdrop and everything else needed for a lesson. Additionally WGFD and NASP offers grants to partially cover the cost of the program.
Teachers must be certified to teach NASP. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department offers free trainings throughout the year.
