If you are in a runner role - someone who is out and about helping someone in the community - we will share your first name with the person in the support request. It's up to you whether or not to share your name with other volunteers. Note: the collaboration tools we commonly use, like WhatsApp and Google Docs, may reveal your full name if you have included your full name in your profile for those services. We do not have control of this.
Nickname or handle

This is for WhatsApp (if you use it), and contacting you. We may also need this to forward calls onto those manning the phone.
Preferred communication mode *
We generally use WhatsApp to stay in touch with our volunteers, but if you prefer we could use email or phone.

If we get a request for help from someone near you, we may contact you directly. We also will know which street or neighbourhood group you are in
What languages do you speak and write? *
We would like to support all members of our community, including those who may not speak, read or write English well.
Team role sign-up - runner *
Picking up prescriptions, shopping, walking dogs. Runners interact with people who may have not spoken to anyone outside of their immediate household for a while. Team role sign-up - gardener *
Small gardening tasks to people who are housebound for any reason, who do not have the funds to employ a gardener. Cutting, lawn-mowing, weeding, planting.  Tasks will be done in pairs, with your own tools.  We have a portable electric lawnmower that can be borrowed. Risk assess property - current thought it must have entrance via a gate and not through house.

Self-isolation-friendly role. We are a mutual aid group, so no one is in charge as such. Everyone can contribute and will do things they've never done before. Coordinators keep a bit of order, sync up between task teams, and other groups at every level.

Self-isolation-friendly role. Taking phone calls, monitoring WhatsApp and email, assigning tasks to other volunteers. The phone number will be forwarded to your existing mobile or landline. We are preparing guidelines and will share them when ready.
Team role sign-up - someone to talk to *
Self-isolation-friendly role. Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is just listen. Communication may be by phone, or with video like WhatsApp, Skype or Zoom. In the coming months, there will be many dealing with anxiety, loneliness and difficult situations who may need someone friendly and kind to talk to. If You may pass on serious cases to trained professionals and appropriate services. We are preparing guidelines and will share them when ready.

The core activity of West Chesterton Mutual Aid does not require a Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate. But occasionally situations might come up that may require more trust. Certificates are generally not transferrable. If you do indicate you have a certificate we would like to verify visually so your record can be updated.
