Te Ara Kākāriki Biodiversity Restoration Support - 2022 planting application
Our resources for 2022 planting assistance have been allocated. Applications received from now on will be reviewed for 2023 planting assistance.
We will contact you in May 2022 to check the application is still relevant, if we don't get a response at that time, it will not be considered.

Te Ara Kakariki has funding available to assist a select number of applicants with native restoration on their property and will apply for separate funding after receiving applications for some sites.
A restoration plan will be provided free of charge to those chosen through this application. Some applications will also qualify for funding to pay for a proportion of plants and combi-guards (private lands only for the contestable fund which is a maximum of $1000 per landowner). Te Ara Kākāriki can also organize a group of volunteers to help you put the plants in the ground at our Annual Canterbury Plantout and smaller planting days in the Springtime.

Please note: this application is for you if you have a site in the Selwyn District where you can set aside a minimum area or 1100m2 (this will accommodate at least 500 plants taking up 2.25m2 per plant). If you would like to plant for multiple years we may be keen to work with you again, subject to annual funding and receiving a new application for each planting year. If your area is smaller, please contact us before you fill out this application. There may be other ways we can help you.

If you are not successful in this early round of applications, we will keep your application on file for a possible second call out later in 2021. Find out more about us here: https://www.kakariki.org.nz/
