The Experience of Redemption
Mar 16, 2021 08:00 PM Jerusalem

The climactic conclusion of the Maggid section of the Haggadah, in which we tell the story of the Exodus from Egypt, is the berakhah in which we raise our second cup and praise God Who "redeemed Israel." Though the Exodus is framed in terms of a movement from slavery to freedom, redemption is not identical with freedom. We will explore the meaning of redemption as the inner essence of Pesach, how it is expressed in the Haggadah and the mitzvot of the Seder, and how we can access the experience of redemption, at the Seder and throughout our lives.
