Application Info
You can sign up for either or both programs and will be housed and fed (except dinner) during both activities. Applicants that are able to volunteer for both programs will receive priority!

Don't stress about this application-- we just want to get to know you a little bit! Thoughtful but brief answers are encouraged :)

IMPORTANT: We are only able to give housing to Columbia College and Engineering undergraduates. In addition, this program is physically intensive (you will be required to lift up to 50 lbs); however, if you are unable to do so for any reason, please still apply, as we are able to make accommodations.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and you will be contacted to set up a short interview where the program will be discussed in further detail. First round of applications is due Friday, February 14th at 11:59 pm.

Please email Midori Sangiolo (mis2150@columbia.edu), Johanna Klein (jmk2264@columbia.edu) or Sonia Mahajan (ssm2213@columbia.edu) if you have any questions about the application process or the programs.
What is Give and Go Green (GGG)?
Give and Go Green is a volunteer program diverting tons of waste from the landfill during SPRING MOVE-OUT. We collect students' leftover items and either donate them to local charities or store them over the summer to sell during NSOP's GreenSales. The proceeds from the GreenSale fund EcoReps initiatives throughout the year. We also volunteer at Commencement to promote recycling. This program involves a lot of physical labor, but less/ non physical roles are available too!

If you are accepted to the Give and Go Green program, you will collect items from Columbia's residence halls and bring them back to Wien Lounge, sort and organize the items, clean mini fridges, and load items on and off trucks and into storage. Perks include free housing until approximately May 25 (low stress move-out), meeting awesome people interested in environmental causes, and free food (we provide breakfast and lunch).

Give and Go Green takes place approximately from May 15 to May 25 (move-out). Dates are subject to change.
What is Green NSOP (gNSOP)?
Green NSOP is the event during FALL NSOP where you will serve as tomes of knowledge about all environmental things on campus as a Green Leader. As a Green NSOP volunteer, you will be required to table/advertise during upperclassmen move-in, answer all questions new students may have about sustainability at Columbia. Volunteers also bring GreenSale items back from storage, and set up/run the GreenSale. Perks include free housing, NSOP food :), great people, and getting to come back to the city before everyone else!

Green NSOP will take place during late August and early September (check-in date TBA; it is typically a few days before first-year move-in).
