Students can request experiential learning funds for student wages for lab and field experiences. This support is available only to students who are majoring in Biology, Bioinformatics, Biological Science Education, Biodiversity & Conservation.
Each application will provide documentation of clear duties and learning outcomes for the student. A faculty endorsement will also be required (the department will seek the faculty endorsement).
Students will be eligible for 10 hours a week for a semester at a pay rate of $13 an hour for a total of $1400.
In order to qualify for future funding and scholarships, the student is required to write a brief report of your experiences to the department, working in the lab. Please send the finished report to
nicole.cuthbert@byu.edu.
Students are only eligible for one experiential learning per year, between the different types of student-centered experiential learning programs (Student travel/experience support, Faculty led, or Student wages).
Students will also need to fill out an employment application at the following link.
