Phase 2 Instructional Program Selection
Honiss School Parents:
The District Restart Committee, in coordination with the School Pandemic Teams and District administrators, is recommending changes to the instructional program that will begin on Monday, November 9, 2020, which is the beginning of the second marking period. For Phase 2 of our re-opening plan, "Virtual Wednesday" is being eliminated and will be replaced by an additional in-person Hybrid Day. Cohorts will alternate in-person attendance on Wednesdays. For example, on Week 1, the Cohort A group will attend in-person on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, while Cohort B will attend on Thursday and Friday; on Week 2, Cohort A will attend on Monday and Tuesday, while Cohort B will attend in-person on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. A schedule will be sent home to all families from each school. Virtual-only Learners will continue to follow their program from Phase 1, inclusive of the addition of an added in-person instructional day on Wednesday.
Once again, we are asking you to provide us with information about whether or not your children will attend the Hybrid/in-person program or if they will attend the Virtual-only program. Please fill out a form for each of your children. This information is critical for us, so we can prepare as we move forward. The information collected from this survey form will serve as your official request for which program (either Hybrid or All-Virtual) your child will be enrolled in during the 2nd marking period.
If the Virtual-only option is selected, students must be prepared to remain in this program for the duration of the second marking period. The second marking period begins on November 9, 2020 and runs through January 22, 2021.
The District Restart committee will continue to meet regularly to evaluate our implementation of Phase 2 and to consider additional recommendations for future implementation. These changes may involve changes to the schedule.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.
