Belmont Middle School Chamber Singers Auditions Sign-Up - Fall 2023
Happy 2023-2024 School Year! This year at the new BMHS, Chamber Singers will be offered to 7th and 8th graders and it will be directed by Ms. Kaitlin Donovan. This form is to begin gathering interest in involvement so that we can start strong in just a few weeks.
We will be meeting on Mondays from 2:30-3:30 in the BMHS Chorus Room (Rm. B225). We will also have a Google Classroom for rehearsal tracks, announcements, etc.
BMS Chamber Singers is an after-school ensemble for students who want to sing, collaborate and engage in chorus more than the regular school day. While it is a mixed-grade group, we will tackle more advanced repertoire and have more opportunities to show individual skills in a masterclass style. This ensemble is open to students in 7th/8th grade who are participating in an in-school ensemble (chorus, band, or orchestra).
The student will agree to the following requirements:
-I will attend all rehearsals.
-I will come to rehearsal on time, prepared with my notation and a pencil.
-I will actively participate in rehearsals as best I can.
-I will rehearse my parts independently throughout the week and come to each rehearsal prepared to sing my own part.
-I will act as a role model in my band, chorus, or orchestra class throughout the day.
-I will act as a role model in all other classes and activities at Chenery.
Rehearsals will begin OCTOBER 2nd and continue through April. Full calendar will be provided at the first rehearsal.
RETURNING STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO RE-AUDITION. However, you DO need to register with me on this form below.
NEW interested students: Please complete the form AND select a time-frame to sing for me between September 25th and September 29th. During our time together, I will ask you to sing something you are working on or a song that you've learned before ("Happy Birthday" or "Row Row Row You Boat" work well too!) By hearing you sing, I can put you in the best section to grow your voice.
Students will be notified of their acceptance into the BMS Chamber Singers by October 1st and will then be expected to pay the BMS After-School Activity Fee ($150 through the BPS Fee website).
