Volunteer with us! Enjoy the great outdoors, support small local businesses, participate in the Duncan Farmers Market community, and meet new people! 

New to Duncan? Volunteering with DFM is a great way to feel connected in this city! We are proud of our friendly volunteer environment and hope you’ll consider joining us! We have volunteers of all ages and backgrounds and are proud of the diverse and fun environment we provide.

This year our market runs every Saturdays 9-2pm. Our volunteers are usually concentrated into two shifts: 
  • 8:00am-11:35am
  • 11:25am-3:00pm

We do not accept volunteers who are not available on Saturdays or not able to join us physically at the market. 

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must be listed on your application and we will follow up with parents and guardians regarding their teen’s application. We only accept volunteers under 14 if they volunteer with an adult (ie. a parent or guardian or someone approved by a parent or guardian). Have questions about your specific circumstances? Volunteer Expectations
Volunteer Expectations:

- Comfortable working with the public and understand how to behave professionally,

- Are welcoming and understand our city is diverse and all visitors and fellow volunteers and employees are to be treated with respect,

- Are comfortable being active for at least 2 hours (we understand that everyone's abilities differ and so we will work with you to see what this activity looks like),

- Lift at least 25lbs (we understand that everyone's abilities differ and we do not discount applicants who are not able to lift 25lbs. However, we do need several people that have this physical ability on our shifts to be able to set up and tear down the market),

- Have availability between 8:00am-3:00pm on Saturday. Preferably during one of the shifts listed below.

Volunteer Tasks include:

- Helping with set up and tear down (setting up tents, tables, chairs, directing traffic, supporting vendors, etc),

- Supporting staff at our Info Booth(s) with small sales, membership support and customer questions,

- Counting customers,

- Other odd jobs,

It is important to understand that our market is a progressive space that supports the local food movement, food security, small businesses, and community. We see customers and community members from all walks of life, and our market is for every one of them. We only welcome volunteers who are able to support this mindset.

Do you need volunteer hours or is this just for fun or for making new friends? The more information you give us the better we can determine what kind of volunteering set up would work best for you. Availability *

All of our volunteer positions take place on Saturday at the market in Downtown Duncan. We do not have volunteer positions in administration, social media, or any tasks that would be 'from home'. We prefer volunteers for these main two shifts on Saturday. Please let us know which one works best for you.

If neither shifts are possible for you please select 'other' and we will try to accommodate as best we can. Please know that we may not be able to accommodate you under those circumstances but we will try our best.
