- Comfortable working with the public and understand how to behave professionally,
- Are welcoming and understand our city is diverse and all visitors and fellow volunteers and employees are to be treated with respect,
- Are comfortable being active for at least 2 hours (we understand that everyone's abilities differ and so we will work with you to see what this activity looks like),
- Lift at least 25lbs (we understand that everyone's abilities differ and we do not discount applicants who are not able to lift 25lbs. However, we do need several people that have this physical ability on our shifts to be able to set up and tear down the market),
- Have availability between 8:00am-3:00pm on Saturday. Preferably during one of the shifts listed below.
Volunteer Tasks include:
- Helping with set up and tear down (setting up tents, tables, chairs, directing traffic, supporting vendors, etc),
- Supporting staff at our Info Booth(s) with small sales, membership support and customer questions,
- Counting customers,
- Other odd jobs,
It is important to understand that our market is a progressive space that supports the local food movement, food security, small businesses, and community. We see customers and community members from all walks of life, and our market is for every one of them. We only welcome volunteers who are able to support this mindset.
