March MATHness on March 29th
3rd Grade will be having a March MATHness event on Wednesday March 29th from 6-7. Your family is invited! Please note that you can bring siblings if needed. (There will be high school students there to watch younger siblings in the library.) The purpose of this event is for parents to better understand the strategies students are learning about to solve math problems so you can best engage with your child at home.

More about the event- The event was co-planned with parents! There will be the following stations: Division, Multiplication / Area, Addition / Subtraction, Fractions and Games

Students and parents will move together from station to station. Families can go in any order to any station (so it will be a drop-in and free-flowing event). Students will be the teachers at each station and will teach their families! At each station there will be reference sheets and different representations of problem solving strategies for students and families to use and discuss. At each table there will be number nuggets, warm-ups, and problems that parents and kids can work on together to solve.

To make sure we are planned for the correct amount of people, we ask that you fill in this questionnaire. It is fine if things change and you either can or cannot go when the time comes, this is just for planning purposes.

Thanks,
Jessica
