The repliCATS workshop will be focused on predicting the likely replicability of published research in the social and behavioural sciences literature. Previous workshop participants have appreciated the opportunity to consider and evaluate many different scientific claims and gain exposure to a variety of research designs and approaches.Our hope is that this process will help groups think critically about the evidence these studies present.
 
 
About the repliCATS workshop
Working in small groups of 5-6, you will be asked to evaluate approximately a dozen social and behavioural science research claims. Each group will have its own facilitator, who will guide you through a structured elicitation protocol.
The workshop will be fully catered.
 
Before the workshop
You will be asked to complete demographics information and training prior to the workshop.
 
During the workshop
The elicitation protocol involves two rounds of estimation with discussion before the second round.
Round 1: You will be asked to read the claims, and submit your initial private estimate, and reasoning.
 
Discussion: Your judgements will be shared with the group, but will be de-identified (via a code name), and the group engages in feedback and discussion.
 
Round 2 : revise your estimates should you believe there is good reason to do so.

Travel Grants
We are offering 55 travel grants of  USD$400 to participants outside the Melbourne metropolitan area and free attendance at the AIMOS2019 conference to all workshop participants.
To claim the award, you must attend the full day of the workshop, and sign off on the register at the workshop venue. Please note that reimbursements can take up to 6 weeks. We are sorry to not be able to provide the awards upfront, but this is not possible because of the terms of our own funding.
 
Requirements
Our primary requirement is a willingness to evaluate published research in the social and behavioural science literature.
 
To register for the workshop, you must be over 18 years old, and should have completed or be currently enrolled in a degree in a relevant area. You also need to bring your own laptop to the workshop.
