Study information

We are looking for parents of infants between the ages of 6 and 16 months to provide short videos of their infant playing with toys or other household objects in their home environment. You do not need to record anything new, any videos you have already taken are useful to us.

We will use the video you provide to learn about how babies reach for, grasp, and use objects in a natural, comfortable setting. . We ask that all videos contain footage of only one infant. It is also best if the baby is in the centre of the screen, facing the camera.

Your baby’s safety and privacy is of utmost importance to us. The video you provide will not be shared with researchers outside of this study unless you give us permission to do so. Your name and information about your baby will not be stored alongside the video you provide.

If you are interested in taking part, please continue onto the next page where you will be provided with an extended overview of the research aims and of our data protection protocol. After that, you can fill out the following consent form, which we will review before providing you with a unique code and a link to another form where you can upload your video or videos. If you have any questions, you can contact Dr. Áine Ní Choisdealbha (aine.nichoisdealbha@ucd.ie) or Dr. Nuala Brady (nuala.brady@ucd.ie). This study has been approved by the UCD Human Resource Ethics Committee (HREC).
