This week's independent work consists of three activities:
One is a video from the YouTube series Crash Course, that looks at issues and events in history from a contemporary and witty perspective.
The second is background reading about Ancient Greece from your textbook that will help provide you some context for reading the primary source material.
Following both of these, there a handful of short questions designed to help you make sure you grasped the important points. You are required to answer all of the questions, but you may review and revise them as many times as you want until you feel confident about your responses/
The final activity is the primary source material itself: The Apology of Socrates. Following this text is a set of discussion questions. Please spend time really thinking about these, and answer in complete sentences. Your responses will form the basis for our discussion next week. Plan to spend a total of two hours on this week's independent work.
