Expectations for Students
Dash Corps is a program for students who are looking deepen and expand their community-engaged work through project-based learning. Students are formed into project teams that work alongside community partners, completing a capacity building project or developing solutions to a sticky challenge the organization is facing. Each project team is lead by a student project manager, someone who has experience completing project-based work in the community. Students can expect to spend about 8 hours a month on Dash Corps including required virtual bi-weekly meetings and team coordination with partner sites.

Student participants are responsible for attending bi-weekly workshops and seminars related to civic engagement and social justice on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Students can also expect to meet regularly with their teams. Dash Corps teams work with community partner sites to fully scope and complete at least one project that the sites have identified. Exact project schedules will vary by team and students should be prepared to put in the time necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project goal.
