Buki Waza Seminar: Information + Schedule
⭕ WELCOME:

Welcome to the registration form for the September 2020 weapons seminar in St Bees, West Cumbria that will be instructed by Brendon Buchanan, 3rd Dan Aikikai. We hope that this will be a fun event where you can learn and develop your aikido weapons skills and meet old and new friends. Training will be socially distanced / non-contact and we have worked hard to ensure that COVID-safe arrangements are in place and that these measures are consistent with the recommendations of the Government and relevant sporting bodies.

⭕ SCHEDULE:

Friday 11 September
- Class 1: 18:00 – 20:00 – All welcome at no cost

Saturday 12 September
- Class 2: 11:00 – 13:00
- Class 3: 13:45 – 15:15
- Class 4: 15:30 – 17:00
- Kyu gradings: 17:00 – 17:30 (by prearrangement only)

Sunday 13 September
- Class 5: 09:00 – 10:30
- Class 6: 10:45 – 12:15

St Bees School is a co-educational independent school located in the West Cumbrian village of St Bees that was founded in 1583 by the then Archbishop of Canterbury Edmund Grindal as a boys' "free grammar school". St Bees School has been home to West Cumbria Aikido since February 2019 and this will be our second national level seminar.

St Bees is a charming West Cumbrian coastal village situated just south of Whitehaven, about 50 miles south from Carlisle and is a good base for exploring the western side of the Lake District and the Cumbrian coast. ⭕INSTRUCTOR:

All classes will be led by Brendon Buckanan, 3rd Dan Aikikai, of Kou Ki Do Kan Aikido, Wolverhampton, UK.

Brendon is a 3rd Dan within Traditional Aikido Europe (TAE). He is the dojo cho of the Wolverhampton based Kou Ki Do Kan Aikido Club and a founding member of Traditional Aikido UK (TAUK). He started studying aikido in 2001 and has been training under Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros since 2013. During the last 7 to 8 years he has attended over 40 seminars and training camps with Sensei de Quiros and has visited and trained in 10 TAE dojos across Europe.

⭕ FEE:

There is no charge for anyone wanting to attended the Friday evening class.

Saturday / Sunday Workshop Fee is £25 payable in advance by bank transfer to:

Please use the reference Bren_Sept_2020 in your transfer and ensure that you also add your name. He have done everything we can to keep the seminar costs as low as possible. Nonetheless, we still have venue hire and other costs to cover. As such we are only able to offer one total weekend seminar fee and cannot give a Saturday / Sunday specific day rate.

Note, due to the COVID situation, any cancellations will be refunded in full. Also, there will be access to tap water for drinking, but no other refreshments will be provided (sorry....).

Any attendance  - whether Friday, Saturday or Sunday has to be in compliance with our COVID-safe arrangements (see below).
