Organize with Queer & Trans Youth Music Project
Interested in organizing with Queer & Trans Youth Music Project?

Complete and submit the following form and a member of the QTYMP Leadership Team will be in touch soon to talk more about ways to get involved! Organizers are needed throughout the year, and there is space for folks of all experience levels, areas of expertise, time availability, etc.

You can help out with a specific project team to work on designing the summer camp program, doing outreach, fundraising and budgeting, youth leadership development, or collective liberation curriculum and training. Whether you are helping out with a fundraising event, working on the website, visiting schools to talk about QTYMP, or planning our summer curriculum, we need your help to make camp happen!

You can also apply to join the Leadership Team, which offers a $500 annual stipend and a more intensive commitment to shaping and running QTYMP (time commitment starts now and runs through Fall 2019). This position has a separate application, but start by filling out this form and we'll be in touch from there!

If you are interested in our summer camp, but would rather not organize during the year check out our volunteer application instead under "volunteer at camp" in the "get involved" tab of our website.

A few notes about getting involved:

+ QTYMP is grounded in queer & trans leadership and visibility in all aspects of our organization and programming. If you do not share these identities, we still need your support throughout the year and during camp, and you can still be involved in organizing!

+ We center and prioritize People of Color in the leadership and community of QTYMP. POC folks applying to the leadership team will be prioritized for these paid positions.

+ We welcome and encourage youth leadership. If you are 20 and under, you can participate in QTYMP programs AND be an organizer! The Rogue Rainbow Team is specifically designed to center the voices, experiences, and ideas of young queer, trans, and gender variant/non-conforming youth. Young folks are also welcome on any of the Project Teams, as well as on the Leadership Team.

+ We recognize that systemic oppressions that we seek to dismantle (which include and are not limited to racism, transphobia, transmisogyny, adultism, ableism, and classism) can also show up in our interpersonal relationships and organizations. We expect everyone involved with QTYMP to reflectively engage with their identities and privileges, and support one another on the path to healing and collective liberation.

Questions, concerns, ideas? Get in touch! SeattleQTYMP@gmail.com. The organizing cycle has already begun but we will be accepting new organizers as the year goes on. We will get in touch with you promptly after you submit your application
