Weekly Learning Activities:

Monday:

Problem Solving (Maths Activities & Interview Prep Class)

Our LEC classes encourage students to develop their higher-order thinking skills through open-ended questions, puzzles, riddles and hands-on activities. Furthermore, teachers will introduce new mathematics concepts to the children bi-weekly to ensure they build a solid foundation on key concepts before learning a new skill. For the Interview Prep Class, the teachers will introduce the basic etiquette of answering interview-style questions for international and direct subsidy schools.

Tuesday:

Culture Studies in Mandarin & Cantonese

Children will have the excellent opportunity to sing songs and read poems aloud in Cantonese and Mandarin. Children that enrol in our LEC classes will practice the art of presentation. The Tuesday classes will also introduce the fundamentals of understanding the structure and sequences when writing traditional Chinese characters. Furthermore, our LEC children will also learn about the many great wonders our beautiful city, Hong Kong, offers.

Wednesday:

Knowledge Building (Language and Social Emotional Development)

The language classes at LEC are designed based on a reading comprehension layout where children will first listen to a story and then complete assigned work and activities. Our children will be able to work alongside their teacher and friends during Small Group Learning and review letters and sounds during class reflection time.

Thursday:

Risk-Takers (STEAM)

LEC STEAM activities inspire inquiry and curiosity, empower children to ask thought-provoking questions that promote creativity and exploration and connect their problem-solving to real-world solutions. There will be some classes where children will develop their culinary skills and make delicious treat for their loved ones. 

Friday:

Creative Inquiry (Music, Artist Study)

Creativity can be defined as the journey through which we use and develop our imaginations, originality, productivity and problem-solving abilities. The same principle applies to creative expression in early childhood learning. Every Friday, our LEC children will explore different genres of music, create their artwork using sensory materials, and participate in dramatic storytelling and role-play activities.
