Infants School Governors Fund Donation September 2021-2022
Each year we ask you to contribute to the Governors’ Fund and we would like to thank all of you who respond with great generosity. In a Catholic Voluntary Aided School, Governors are responsible for 10% of the cost of most repairs and improvements to the school buildings. As you may imagine with ever increasing costs, this becomes quite a burden. We, therefore, ask for your support in helping to maintain the excellent standards at St Mary’s by making a donation of at least £35.00 per family, per school. However, if you wish to make a greater donation, please indicate the amount in the box when making the payment on line.

The Governor’s Fund raised £12,891 from the parent donations and £2,056 in Gift Aid which totalled to just over £14,948 in 2020 - 2021. The Governor’s Fund helps towards overall improvements to the school allowing the infants and juniors to have the benefit of extra funding for facilities and resources.

In the Infants School this funding has helped with the expansion of the car park, replacement security fencing and new lighting throughout the school in addition to the new outdoor climbing equipment for the Nursery. In the Junior School a new heating system phase’s 1 and 2 have been are in progress. These improvements wouldn’t happen without the financial support of the governors.

Payment can be made either on line or by cash at any Paypoint retailer by requesting a Paypoint letter at the school office.

If you are a taxpayer, please could you also complete the Gift Aid Declaration either by electronic form (Infant School - Gift Aid Form or Junior School - Gift Aid Form ) or overleaf so that we can reclaim from the Inland Revenue the tax you have already paid on your donation to the Fund. This rebate adds another £8 to each £35.00. Once signed, the gift aid form will remain in place for the remainder of your time at the school.

Please notify us of any change to your circumstance that could affect your gift aid donation in the future.

The governors are immensely proud of the community contributions and thank all parents for their continued support in enabling us to retain the standards of the school both for the education and premises.

Yours sincerely

A Tierney

I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference to HMRC.       Gift Aid is reclaimed by the charity from the tax you pay for the current tax year.  Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer. Please notify the school if you: 1. Want to cancel this declaration 2. Change your name or home address 3. No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/ or capital gains. If you pay income tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue & Customs to adjust your tax code. By ticking the box below you give permission for the school to record your details and to reclaim the gift aid from HMRC. *
