2022 City of Richmond Willie Mays Day Celebration Parade Sign Up
Be a part of the parade that will honor and celebrate the legacy of baseball legend, Willie Mays!

NOTE: Parade information and logistics is subject to change--participants will be informed of any changes.

When: Saturday, May 21, 2022

Where:
Ceremony at Nicholl Park, baseball diamond #1
Youth exhibition baseball games at baseball diamonds #2 and #3
Parade route/locations below


Schedule:
  9:00 AM - Parade participants arrive at start site
10:00 AM - Parade begins
11:00 AM - Ceremony honoring Willie Mays
12:00 PM - Exhibition youth baseball game

Parade Route (All participants will be notified of any changes to the starting location and/or route):
Participants will meet at 9:00 A.M. near Civic Center Plaza across from the Richmond Main Library (325 Civic Center Plaza). The parade will start at 10:00 AM and continue down east on Macdonald Ave., then turn right in front of LaVonya DeJean Middle School, then right again on Harry Ells Place into the City of Richmond Parks Corporation Yard parking lot(3201 Leona Ave.), and end near the baseball diamond at Nicholl Park around 11:00 AM.

The deadline to sign up is May 11, 2022 at 5:00 PM. City of Richmond staff will reach out to confirm, share more details, and send event logistics closer to the date.
