Designated as a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Jamestown annually qualifies for grant funding from HUD for housing and community development projects. In order to receive funding, the City is required to submit a Consolidated Plan that outlines community needs and how grant funds will be prioritized. The City of Jamestown 2024 Annual Action Plan is supplemental to and is to be implemented in coordination with the City’s 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan, which was approved and adopted by the Jamestown City Council in December 2020. The Consolidated Plan provides the foundation for a coordinated neighborhood and community development strategy.
The Annual Action Plan builds on the Consolidated Plan by identifying and developing specific housing and community activities that will support and reinforce the implementation of the City’s neighborhood and community development strategy. The Annual Action Plan provides the City an opportunity to evaluate the progress that has been made toward achieving the goals set forth in the Consolidated Plan and to revise the strategies and adjust goals as needed.
