16/03: (re)connection Workshop

Dear Beautiful you,

With filling in this form, you inform us that you want to participate in the “(re)connection Workshop” in collaboration with Thijs Dickhoff (Saso Arts) on Thursday the 16th of March,

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

To connect (creative) strangers in a safe way. Challenge the ideas of not needing to do it all on your own when it comes to creating. Connecting (and making) with other creatives is important within further developing your own practice. But also: learning from each other what it means to be an artist and all the struggles that come along with this. So therefore we pose the question what do you need to reconnect to your creativity.

In collaboration with Thijs Dickhoff (he will lead this workshop), we will create a workshop where we invite other creatives to participate in the practice called “(re)connection”. This practice was developed by Thijs (after a participation installation that Thijs and I created this summer called “Linien(UN)treue” during the IBUG street art Festival in Floha, Germany).

During this workshop, we invite the participants to create together with specific rules that restrict the makers on one hand, but challenge them to meet ‘the other’ through these set of rules on the other hand. Prompting you to think about what you need for your creativity to thrive.

On this afternoon, besides the creative workshop that will be organized. There will be room to connect with other makers who struggle with having to use their creativity as the means of earning their living, the pressures that come with that and exchange experiences and lessons that you have learned as a human being and creatives.
