Health Information at Himmelfarb Feedback

We’ve changed the library catalog to increase the visibility of content from other Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) libraries and we’d like to hear your feedback!

The new default search scope of  "Articles + GW & Consortium Catalog" includes print books and physical items from WRLC libraries including Gelman Library, American University libraries, Georgetown University libraries, and other academic libraries in the DC metro area. Himmelfarb users can request these books through the catalog using the Consortium Loan Service (CLS) and have them shipped to Himmelfarb within a few business days. There is no cost and no limit on the amount of CLS requests you can place.

If you would prefer to use the previous default search scope, you can change it back using the drop-down menu on the right side of the search box and selecting  "Articles + Himmelfarb Catalog". This retrieves content owned by Himmelfarb in all formats (print or online; books, journal articles, videos, and more) and does not include content from the other WRLC libraries.

We will evaluate this change in Spring 2024 to decide whether to continue with the new configuration or return to the previous default search behavior. Your feedback will help us make the decision that is most helpful to you, our users.
