This semester we welcome k– 5th graders of any level to club! We will split our groups by age into two rooms this semester! Club is a privilege and children must behave to remain in the club. If children are disrespectful we will give out only one warning before removal from club. Thank you for understanding!

 Professional instructor Shawn Pealer and assistant Evan Olsdal will continue our popular and fun club! Kindergartners are welcome this semester!

By the end of this session, children will know all the basic rules of chess, including all the rules for en passant, promotion, and castling. More advanced students will learn about endgame techniques, opening theory, and practice lots and lots of tactics.

Everyone will learn new vocabulary, improve sportspersonship, study Grandmaster games, and play lots of chess! You can always get better at chess and have fun!

We meet every Wednesday starting January 15th - April 1st, from 2:50-3:50pm. Please be respectful of our dismissal time.

Please remit a check to Over The Chessboard for $145 for the semester. You may bring it to school at any time before club starts. Please include your child's name on the envelope or check. If you would rather, you can pay via Cash App $overthechessboard, or Zelle 520.208.3616. Please write a note with your child's name and school!

This semester, children can participate with excellent behavior. If there is a problem with disrespect or distracting other students, we will speak with you, and if it continues we will no longer be able to work with the children, without reimbursement.
