BVSD has created new policies for Lifelong Learning programs. All instructors teaching in person will need proof of liability insurance.
Instructors teaching in person on BVSD property will need to have liability insurance.
Instructors who choose to teach in person class, off BVSD property, will need their own liability insurance and their students will have to sign a waiver releasing BVSD from liability.
Online classes will not need liability insurance. Online teachers will be able to sign a waiver excluding them from the insurance requirement. Online classes will follow the new payment contract.
1. The following statement is from the new BVSD contract regarding insurance requirements.
Insurance Note
All groups must submit proof of liability insurance at the same time the Lifelong Learning request form is submitted. Boulder Valley School District must be listed as Additionally Insured on the certificate. If you are part of an organized group, the limits of liability are $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate. If you are an individual, the limits of liability are $500,000 per occurrence, $1,000,000 aggregate.
* If you are not a business or an LLC, you may purchase a private practice professional liability plan or a general liability insurance plan. I would contact your insurance company and see if they offer this. If not, I have a recommendation that I am happy to provide on request.
2. Payment contracts are as follows:
* Businesses/LLCs will contract for 50%
* Nonbusiness/nonLLC will contract for $35 an hour
