GrooveLab Fall Enrollment
Starting this fall, we have both scholarship-funded classes through Project Encore AZ and non-scholarship-funded ensembles through GrooveLab being offered. You can read class descriptions below and indicate your/your family's interest for GrooveLab classes and ensembles using this form. GrooveLab will be hosting fee-based classes, ensembles & workshops that meet continually throughout the year.

Project Encore AZ is a Sierra Vista-based fine arts non-profit with the mission to bridge the fine arts gap through education, performance, mentorship and literacy for youth through adults. If you/your family pre-paid for the year back in January 2023, your pre-payment is still valid. New ensemble fees will take effect for you/your family in January 2024.

Class Descriptions - Fall 2023 Semester
Please read the class descriptions below and indicate your interest below.
GrooveLab: Youth Theatre Company
  • Youth K - 12
  • Sunday rehearsals time: 2:00pm - 3:00pm
  • $25/month ensemble fee; additional family members in same class 50% discount
  • 5-ensemble member minimum
  • Company members work on performances such as one-acts, musicals and other spoken word events.
GrooveLab: Steel Pan Ensemble - Youth
  • Youth 3rd Grade - 12th Grade
  • Sunday rehearsals: 3:15pm - 4:15pm
  • Year-round ensemble:  $25/month ensemble fee; additional family members in same class 50% discount
  • 5-ensemble member minimum
  • Members learn performance repertoire in rock stylings.
  • Engine room percussion also welcome (bass guitar, auxiliary percussion, drum set).

GrooveLab: Steel Pan Ensemble - Community
  • Youth through Adult (all skill levels)
  • Sunday rehearsals: 4:15pm - 5:15pm
  • Year-round ensemble:  $25/month ensemble fee; additional family members in same class 50% discount
  • 5-ensemble member minimum
  • Members learn performance repertoire in classic soca, calypso, reggae, rock and samba stylings.
  • Engine room percussion also welcome (bass guitar, auxiliary percussion, drum set).

GrooveLab: Taiko Ensemble
  • Youth through Adult (all skill levels)
  • Sunday rehearsals: 5:30pm - 6:30pm
  • Year-round ensemble:  $25/month ensemble fee; additional family members in same class 50% discount
  • 5-ensemble member minimum
  • Members learn community group repertoire from Odaiko Sonora (Tucson Taiko) on taiko, okedo, and narimono.

GrooveLab: Rock Band Ensemble
  • Youth through Adult
  • Sunday rehearsals: 6:30pm - 7:30pm
  • Year-round ensemble:  $25/month ensemble fee; additional family members in same class 50% discount
  • 5-ensemble member minimum
  • Members have beginner knowledge of typical rock band instruments (guitar, bass, keyboard, vocals and drums) or a willingness to learn!
  • Ensemble works on classic through modern rock band songs using digital resources such as Guitar Pro and YouTube.
