FACT CHECK
Just wanted to point out another error by John. He described the current residents of Western South Asia as "Hindu Indians and Muslim Pakistanis", which is really an over generalization, as there are also Muslim Indians and Hindu Pakistanis. But we'll learn about those religions later this year, and those countries by the end of next year, so you'll see.
Mystery Solved? The Saraswati River!
So, in the beginning of the first video, John very quickly mentioned that the Harappan Civilization, also known as the Indus Valley Civilization, existed along the Indus AND the Saraswati Rivers. You may have missed that because (A) he said it very quickly and (B) he mispronounced Saraswati (I think he said Sawarti???). Anyway, there is a pretty cool theory about the collapse of the Harappan civilization that he only partially mentioned when he talked about the Earthquake, but he left out the coolest part! So I want you to just watch a short clip from this documentary so you can discover it for yourselves! Just watch from 20:00 to 25:00! We can talk more about it in class.
The Ghaggar Hakra AKA Saraswati River! (You only need to watch 20:00-25:00!)
Though many of the cities are along the Indus River, many of the cities from the civilization are found in what is today *

JUST FOR FUN: If you want to check it out, this is a trailer for a movie that takes place in the Indus Valley Civilization. Pretty cool. It's on Netflix actually. Definitely a lot of stuff was made up, but the recreated city is pretty cool.
Did you watch the trailer (totally optional just curious) *
