***** Training Dates:  July 27-28, 2019 10a-4pm in Charlotte, North Carolina

This training is designed to prepare attendees with the skills needed to serve as an abortion doula training in a clinical and non-clinical setting. Attendees will leave prepared to work both privately as doulas supporting abortion and fetal loss and as part of Carolina Abortion Fund's growing practical support network.  Over a two-day session attendees will work with a training team to cover a variety of topics such as:

* What is an abortion?
* Physical & emotional abortion support
* Fetal Anomalies & fetal demise
* Support for miscarriage & stillbirth
* Working within a clinic setting
* Abortion & the Law: SMA overview
* Self Care & Resiliency for support people

This is not a *birth* Doula training. Though we highly recommend taking this training if you are already a birth doula or are planning on it. ** You do not need to be a trained Birth Doula to attend.**
This training is required for all CAF practical support volunteers. There is additional training required for those who looking to work on CAF's helpline.

Please note that spaces for this training are limited and application does not guarantee spot at this training.
All applicants will receive communications regarding their applications status. Invitations will be extended on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority given to CAF-affiliated persons, BIPOC, LGTBQIA, and Spanish speaking applicants.
We ask a training fee of $50-200 from participants with scholarship options available.


Attendees will be provided continental breakfast, coffee or tea, and snacks throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch. In-house childcare is available, babes in arms welcome in the space!
