Albemarle Regional Chess Club's March 5th Chess Tournament. Players will need to arrive on-site between 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. to sign in, 9:20 welcome speech, the first round will begin at 9:35. The event will be 4 rounds, game clocks set to 30 minutes, delay 5 seconds. Provided enough rated players sign up, there will be two rated sections: Novice (rating 101-499) and Elite (rating 500 & up), along with a Rookie section (unrated). Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 in each section (Elite, Novice and Rookie), and medals will be awarded to all players with positive scores. There will also be trophies for the top two school teams (comprised of top 4 scorers in Elite and Novice; students from different sections WILL count as a school team for this tournament). Early registration is $10 on or before March 3rd. Registration after March 3rd is $15. Payment in either cash or check due at sign-in.
