Greene Central High School STEM Academy Application (9-12)
This is the official admission form for all students interested in applying or continuing to take Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) courses for the next school year. All parts must be completely filled out to be considered for admission.
Applications for STEM courses will be accepted on a continuous basis through February 16, 2024.
Students admitted to the academy will continue to participate in various learning experiences every two months, experience workplace visits, participate in leadership opportunities, and engage in a community of scholars challenging themselves to develop the skills and knowledge required for a transition to the workforce, two-year or four-year schools.
STEM Scholar Graduate
To support and recognize the work of all STEM students upon graduating. Seniors are able to graduate as a STEM Scholar if the following criteria are met.
•Teacher Recommendation in support of recognition.
•Maintain a final grade above 70 in all STEM courses.
•Preserve an excellent record of behavior in and out of school.
•Participate in school and/or community events (5 or more events in the span of educational career 9-12).
•Complete at least 16 rigorous courses with 10 being STEM-focused for all graduating classes. Students can have a combination of the following for course credit toward recognition:
*Each AP, College Level, Online, or Honors= 1 course
*Recognition events include: Academic Breakfast, Scholar Banquet, and customized class stole at graduation.
