CODE OF CONDUCT

 We, the undersigned, volunteer to agree to the following, to balance the interests of responsible jet skiers on the River Crouch with other river users concerns over noise and other disturbances.

 Licensing 
We will not operate a jet ski within the Crouch Harbour District without a valid CHA Licence (Contact Harbour Office or look on www.crouchharbour.uk for details) We will at all times, whilst underway within the CHA District clearly display a registration disc   

Area of Activity. 
We will only operate Jet Skis in sport mode within the permitted ski areas. At all other times, we will be required to transit the river at speeds as designated and permissible by CHA Byelaws (observing all 8 knot limits) We will navigate with care and caution and at such a speed as to not endanger the lives or to cause injury or be a nuisance to persons or endanger the safety of or cause damage to other vessels, moorings, buoys, beacons or property. 

Activity Hours 
We will not operate a Jet Skis outside the hours of daylight.

Noise Emission 
We will only use Jet Skis which have EU certification for noise emission standards. We will ensure our Jet Ski is fitted with a silencer and is in good working order.

Speed
We will adhere to Crouch Harbour Authority District speed limits.

Wildlife
Right of way will always be given to any wildlife on the water. We will also stay away from the shoreline to avoid nesting wildlife, except when launching or landing or in the instance of a breakdown.

Safety
The safety of users is paramount, we will operate a safe distance from other jet skis and not impinge or disrupt the safe passage of any other vessel.
