Join us for Baker Build Workdays Spring 2022!
Please join us for 13 workdays over 4 weeks! We will again be doing a complete ‘gut’ remodel of 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms at the Baker House for the non-profit Centers for Women in Transition! We will be updating plumbing, re-drywalling, finishing walls, installing cabinets and new fixtures. ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS WELCOME!
*All Tuesdays and Thursdays are 4 pm – 8 pm; All Saturdays are from 8 am – 4 pm; All Sundays are 9 am – 2 pm or as needed **Follow us on Facebook for daily updates and any time changes!!
*Food and water provided on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Power tools provided. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and sturdy clothes. PPE provided.

Saturday, May 7th – Demo day! Remove drywall, cabinets, tubs, toilets, vanities, fixtures.

Sunday, May 8th – Mother’s Day off

Thursday, May 12th – New Plumbing stack layout / electrical rough

Saturday, May 14 – Electrical and plumbing rough in. Plumb in new stack, run new waste and supply lines, add 2 outlets, install new fan boxes

Thursday May 19 – Continue hang drywall

Saturday, May 21 – Finish drywall if needed, first coat of mud/tape

Sunday, May 22 – Second coat of mud

Tuesday, May 24 – Third coat of mud

Thursday, May 26 – Sand, paint first and second coats

Friday, May 27 – Monday, May 30 - Memorial Day Weekend off

Tuesday, May 31 – cabinets and countertops, vanities, trim

Remodeling can be a dangerous activity and while every effort will be made to make it safe, risk is present. Can you affirm you will not hold MOWIT or CWIT responsible for any injury that results from volunteering? (A written waiver must also be signed prior to volunteering.) *

Weekday evenings food will be provided by CWIT and lunch will be provided on Saturday 3/13 by MOWIT. If you are attending, please register your food preferences and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. *
