Madrid: Climate & Freedom Accord Workshop
Explore National & International Strategies to Expand Freedom and Drive Climate Solutions

You are cordially invited to join us to explore exciting new strategies at the Climate & Freedom Accord Workshop, on May 25, 2024 from 10:00 - 17:00, the day after the Atlas Network Europe Liberty Forum.

REGISTER HERE:

In April 2023 in Lisbon, members of the Climate & Freedom International Coalition hosted the first workshop to ask participants to imagine what an international free market climate agreement could look like. The result was The Climate & Freedom Accord, currently the subject of studies by 9 think tanks across Europe, as well as a proposed amendment to the Paris Agreement.

Now, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, following Atlas Network's Liberty Forum Europe in Madrid, Spain, we take that proposal to the next level.  We invite you to help design a free market framework on climate and sustainable development.

The morning plenary roundtable discussions will allow participants to explore and discuss the basic themes and strategies proposed in the Climate & Freedom Accord.
How can free trade, competition and supply side tax cuts accelerate decarbonizing innovation?  How can the new Accord proposals align those elements to do so even faster, cheaper and more prosperously?  How can a free market approach avoid the unsustainable failures of command & control style EU and US climate policies? What policies should we phase out? How do we phase in global free market streamlining?

Lunch will feature talks by invited experts. The afternoon breakout groups will design and refine Accord proposals in key areas relevant to Europe and beyond. Subjects may include: How do we incorporate private nuclear power into competitive electric markets?  How can the Accord provide a positive incentive alternative that avoids the deindustrialization and emissions-leakage consequences of the EU carbon pricing framework (ETS and CBAM)? How can the Accord ignite robust private citizen-led conservation and climate solutions, across borders, through harmonized charitable empowerment laws?

We recognize that perhaps not everyone will be able to stay the entire day, and have planned the program accordingly. We advise those who want to contribute to new policy design to make late travel plans accordingly. A working lunch and refreshments will be provided.

This workshop unites think tank thought leaders from across Europe, to develop actionable liberty-based alternatives to problematic frameworks like the Paris Agreement, the US IRA, and EU carbon tariffs. Please REGISTER ONLINE TODAY, and we will see you there!
