Respect for Others

I agree to act with respect toward all those I come into contact with through sport. This means I refrain from comments or behaviours, which are abusive, offensive, racist, sexist or otherwise belittling or demeaning to others.

I will not harass or tolerate harassment by others. I will respect others and treat them with dignity. Opponents are not enemies and, when they are better, I am better. I will not put anyone down.

I will respect the privacy of others.

I will not endanger the safety of others through my actions.

Respect for Self

I will act with fairness and integrity in the pursuit of personal excellence.

I will practice drug-free sport and accept doping control. I abstain from the abuse of alcohol and illegal substances, and inappropriate materials and understand they are strictly prohibited.

I will look after my body and mind with sleep, stress management, nutrition, and hydration.

I have a healthy support network (friends/family) that support my efforts in and out of the pool, listen when I need someone to talk to, and pick me up when I need encouragement.

I will ask for help when I need it and acknowledge that the coaches are there to help me and can do that best when I communicate my needs with them.

The voice inside my head is positive and forgiving. It doesn’t berate me or ridicule me. I am my own greatest support.

Respect for Sport

I strive for personal excellence in sport. I honour and respect the spirit and traditions of sport.

I do not impede the preparation for competition of other competitors or teammates. I respect the decisions of judges and officials. I promote drug-free sport.

I appreciate the unpredictable timeline we each follow to get to our goals and appreciate the ups and downs. Athletes and the people they become from their sport lessons are the best kinds of people and I salute them and their efforts.

Respect for Royal City MultiSport

I accept Royal City rules, policies and procedures governing events and competitions in which I participate.

I will comply with the reasonable requests of officials of Royal City.

I accept that I am an ambassador Royal City. In knowing that I am an ambassador, I agree to refrain from any inappropriate or unacceptable behaviors such as violate curfews, partake in illegal activities, use vulgar language or behavior, and any activity that would distract from a positive image of Royal City.

I will refrain from any action, which might bring the sport or the Royal City dishonour. This includes appropriate action while in the pool, on deck, in the change room, while spectating, and while waiting for pickup after an event.

I agree that if I use social networking websites or communication technologies (ex. Instagram, TikTok, text messaging, email, etc.) I will do so in a respectful manner. I understand that things I type or post on social networking sites, or send through text messaging or email are subject to this code.

I wear my team apparel with pride and ensure I speak of the group positively.

Anyone not acting in accordance with the code may be subject to discipline. This discipline may include a verbal or written warning from your coach, discussions with parents, removal from an event, and if necessary
removal from the Club.
