We live in a world where identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ+) is often responded to with anger, fear, silence and sometimes even violence. Because of this hostile climate, it is critical for the LGBTQ+ community to be able to find resources that are welcoming and safe. The Panhandle LGBTQ+ Community Directory helps to identify those businesses and service providers who serve the Panhandle LGBTQ+ community. By being listed in the directory and by displaying the Community Partner decal, you are committing to creating a safe and welcoming space for the Panhandle LGBTQ+ community.

While being in the Community Directory and displaying the Community Partner decal may seem insignificant, the impact is profound, and should not be undertaken without thoughtful intention. The following are the terms with which you must agree without reservation in order to be listed in the Community Directory and honestly commit to providing a safe and welcoming environment.

I will thoroughly and continually evaluate and educate myself on LGBTQ+ issues in order to ensure that I am always creating a safe and welcoming environment. *

I understand that I may be questioned as to why I am committed to being in the Community Directory. I will use these questions as an opportunity to educate others about Panhandle Equality and the Community Directory. *

I will remove my decal and request removal from the Community Directory if, for any reason, I begin to seriously question my ability to be a Community Partner and/or no longer want to be listed in the Community Directory. *
