Montessori Program at the Greenwood Early Childhood Center
Greenwood School District 50 is honored to offer a Montessori Program enrolling students in K3 - 1st Grade.

All student applicants should be eligible to attend school in Greenwood School District 50. Students may apply for the Montessori Program beginning at 3 years old. To apply, your child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2021, potty trained, and a parent or guardian is responsible for transportation to and from the half day (a.m.) Montessori Program. Dismissal for 3 year olds is at 11:30 am. They are not eligible to ride a school bus.

Students may apply for our full day Primary Montessori Program as 4 or 5 year olds. To apply, your child must be 4 or 5 by September 1, 2022.

Acceptance into the Montessori Program is based on a school lottery, which is determined by the number of spots that are available. A lottery is a random selection process by which applicants are admitted to a choice school to ensure that all applicants have an equal chance of being admitted. A lottery is completed when/if more students apply for admission than can be admitted. All new students admitted to the K3 - 1st Grade Montessori Program at the Greenwood Early Childhood Center will be accepted using a lottery process.

First grade enrollment in the Montessori Program will be based on the number of available spots in the program. For acceptance into the first grade Montessori Program, we will use teacher observations and K5 records from the child’s previous program.

Once all students are selected for the 2022-2023 Montessori Program, a waiting list will be developed. Vacancies that may occur after the selection process, but prior to the beginning of the school year, will be filled from the waiting list.

The following information must be completed and submitted by January 24, 2022.
