NIFA - Access to Nature
Help us get started!

We're looking to start a group or organization in northwest Michigan that advocates for access to nature for all people. (Tentatively called NIFA or "Nature is For All"). We believe nature is necessary for the wellness of our society as a whole, and is an individual human right—it belongs to everyone! We recognize the many barriers in place that keep people from accessing and building a connection with nature, and we want to change that.

Our aim is to ensure the "outdoors" doesn't leave anyone out. We're starting with wilderness backpacking trips for women/by women, but eventually may expand to: wilderness trips for people in recovery or underprivileged youth, hiking groups for marginalized people, advocating for wheelchair pathways in natural areas, supporting urban green spaces in low income areas, promoting inclusivity and representation in the outdoor industry, and whatever else we (or you!) can dream up.

We're getting started in 2021, and we need people! If you are passionate about nature and/or making the world a more equitable place, join us!

Sign up below and we'll keep you posted on ways to get involved, group meetings, upcoming wilderness trips, and how our big idea is growing.
