2023  Agricultural Leadership Development Initiative (ALDI) Application
Applicant Requirements: We accept applicants from MD, DC, and VA. This program is best suited to BIPOC farmers and BIPOC veteran farmers. It is designed to prepare students to be agricultural leaders, policy makers, and stakeholders. Please make sure you list the state you live in while filling out this form.

The Agricultural Leadership Development Initiative is intended for intermediate-level farmers who are further along in their careers and have approximately 3-5 seasons of experience. Applicants for this level must currently be engaged in either running their own operation or managing a farm. Trainees are paired with an experienced farmer consultant - a farmer with many years of experience growing sustainably in this region - for a full season of one-on-one guidance and mentorship.

Are you a socially disadvantaged farmer at this point in time? (*The USDA defines a "socially disadvantaged farmer as: https://www.usda.gov/partnerships/frequently-asked-questions-2501-program)

There are very limited spots for the coming year, so please include as much information as possible in your application.  For questions, please contact our ALDI Program Manager at info@futureharvest.org.
