Fulbourn Primary School Summer Camp 2024
Dear Parents and Carers,

Men In Schools at Fulbourn Primary School are delighted to once again be hosting a Summer Camp this year. Organised by this volunteer group of dads, we invite and welcome families with children at Fulbourn Primary School (and siblings if they are pre-school or recent graduates), to join us!

Those of you who have been before will know how great this annual event is - we organise activities, games and competitions; there is food from the BBQ; a campfire for toasting marshmallows; guitar-playing, and almost certainly water fights! In short, it's a whole lot of FUN for everyone!

Where is the Summer Camp held?
Our campsite will be in Long Acre Field on the Fulbourn Manor estate, next to the Fulbourn Fen Nature Reserve, at the end of Stonebridge Lane. There will be a shuttle service operating between the Fulbourn Centre and the campsite, to help transport your kit at the start and end of the event. Note that the campsite is reasonably easily accessible by the public.

What if I've never camped before?
Where better to start than in Fulbourn? Our Summer Camp has been running for several years, with tried-and-tested features to make it accessible and enjoyable for new and seasoned campers alike. Included below is a packing list of things to bring, and we even have a few tents available to borrow if you need one - just let us know when completing the form.

How much will it cost?
Prices are being kept the same as last year - £15 per adult, £7.50 per child, and free for pre-schoolers. These fees are applicable even if you are not camping overnight as it covers food, activities, toilets, and fuel. Please contact the school if your child is entitled to receive Pupil Premium, and you need help with the costs. Note that there will be no back-up date, and unfortunately in the unlikely event that the camp cannot go ahead, we will not be able to provide refunds.

What else do I need to know?
Our camp rules are included below, and we ask that you read them carefully before you sign up. In particular, you will be fully responsible for the child / children under your care; an adult must be present at the camp at all times and children should not be left unsupervised, especially as we will have an open campfire, BBQ and kitchen area in operation.

Can I help?
Yes! To run a camp is quite some undertaking, and we’d welcome any help with setting up and packing away. In particular, if you have a vehicle (such as a Land Rover) capable of towing a trailer over uneven terrain, please let us know. There will also be a sign-up rota for tasks such as food prep and cleaning up during the event. Volunteers can access the site and set up their own tent on Friday night.

How do I sign up?
Just fill in the form below and make a payment via your My Child At School (MCAS) account after Monday 1 April and before Friday 7th June to register your place. Places are first-come, first-served, and if the camp is over-subscribed, we will let those who have been unsuccessful know by mid-June.

If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask any of the Men In Schools group, or email us direct via misfulbourn@gmail.com

We really hope you will support and enjoy this fun event.
