We filed a lawsuit against the Chippewa Falls Schools in 2021 (see our full complaint here). In 2023, our complaint was dismissed for the technical reason that the members of the Cultivative Coalition had already graduated and, therefore, would not benefit from any corrective action by the District (View ACLU Statement Here).

The Department of Public Instruction reprimanded the District for failing to “investigate the complaint’s allegations to determine whether facts exist that are sufficient to find a hostile environment.” DPI warned the District that any future investigations “must make this important initial finding.”

We know that children are still experiencing discrimination and CFAUSD does not adequately investigate. If you are willing to support this work by potentially sharing your experiences with an attorney in the future, please provide us with your contact information. We would not share this information with anyone other than an ACLU attorney.
