NOTICE: Courses other than the Beginning Choirs, are offered based on pre-enrollment numbers.

All students who wish to sing at LJMS, and have no previous experience will be enrolled in the Beginning Voice Category Class; i.e. Bass Clef Chorus for male, tenor, or baritone voices and Soprano/Alto Chorus for woman, Soprano, or Alto voices **unchanged-higher male voices can join the Soprano/Alto chorus to fit their singing, or development range**

Students who wish to enroll in Beginning Choirs should mark the appropriate beginning level CHOIR as their FIRST CHOICE when choosing their Elective. On this form, mark "I'M INTERESTED IN BEGINNING CHOIR".

Students wishing to enroll in the Intermediate or Advanced groups need to mark the appropriate ensemble AND submit this application form; in addition, the student will need to set an appointment with the director for a vocal audition. (Current LJMS choir students who wish to enroll in Intermediate/Advanced classes need Director Approval.)

Students may be excused from auditioning if a letter of recommendation from a CURRENT OR PREVIOUS  music teacher/director is forwarded to the Choir Director at La Joya. Letters may be emailed to tkenyon@vusd.org 

The Letter of recommendation should be received before the enrollment of classes occur for the semester of study.  Students whose letters are received late for Intermediate or Advanced placement, will be enrolled in the Beginning Ensembles until their schedules can be changed by Administration.
