Walnut Hills PTO Grant Application
Walnut Hills PTO Grants are intended to serve Walnut Hills Elementary Students, Teachers, and Clubs/Organizations.

The Walnut Hills PTO Mission Statement:
We are a dedicated group of parents and teachers working together to deepen our community spirit while enriching our student’s educational, creative, social and physical development. We strive to empower students and staff through grants, fundraising, artistic and athletic opportunities…because we love our kids.

Requirements for grant funding through PTO:
Fill out the Application entitled “Walnut Hills PTO Grant Application”
This process should be student driven with guidance from teacher/staff member
Once submitted, the application will automatically be sent to the Grant Co­Chair for review
Dr. Carenza will then review and confirm all applications fit within school guidelines and mission
Please be aware that PTO may only be able to partially fulfill grant requests
Please plan ahead and be thinking of things you want to do, as the grant funds are available on a first come, first serve basis.  

Presentation of Grant Application to PTO members:
Once a co-chair responds to your request, usually 24 hours, you will be responsible for putting together a quick presentation for the PTO about your request and preset (along with a student) at a PTO meeting.  This will give the entire PTO group a chance to hear about the request and ask questions so they can make an informed decision when voting.

PTO members will vote electronically
Co­Chairs will notify teacher/sponsor of grant status as soon as possible after the voting is complete.

Entry and bussing to Des Moines Youth Symphony
Garden Club Warriors supplies
STEAM Fest support
Kindergarten Plates

Additional information:
At the end of the year, a simple survey will be sent to determine successfulness
