Q: What is Tables for Faith ?
A: Tables for Faith is for everyone.  In church, it can often be difficult to meet new people.  These meals provide singles and couples an opportunity to share a family meal as a church family.  The purpose is to mix our members so that new relationships develop and grow.  Each group plans its own meals and gets together once each month for four months.  The groups consist of 6 to 8 people and can meet at one another’s homes, at a restaurant, at the church...it is up to you.

Q: How does Tables for Faith work?
A: Fill out the sign-up form available in Fellowship Hall or register on-line here.  You can sign up as singles or couples or as a family (persons over 18 participate with other adults while younger children may have other activities).  Everyone is welcome.  Once groups are formed, lead hosts will be selected for each group.  They will contact the members to arrange the details of the first gathering.  If you are interested in being the lead host, please indicate on the sign-up form.
Q: How are the groups formed?
A: Each group will consist of six to eight adults.  Because the intent of the dinners is to get to know new people, we will not accommodate requests to be in a certain group.  The mystery is part of the fun.  There will not be separate groups for singles and couples.  Our intent is to mix everyone together.

Q: What does a Lead Host do?
A: As a lead host you are responsible for coordinating the location, date and food sign-ups for the first meal.  Typically, the lead host holds the first meeting at his/her home.  At the dinner, the leader facilitates discussion of where and when the group will meet next.  The leader will remain the point person for the four months.

Q: Who cooks the meals?
A: Potluck dinners are the best way to go.  Typically, the host provides the main dish, and the group members bring appetizer, salad, and dessert to round out the meal.

Q: I don’t have room at my house to host a dinner and/or I really can’t cook
A: We want you to spend time getting to know one another and to include everyone.  We highly recommend rotating hosting duties among group members.  If that is not feasible, your group might choose to repeat a host home, schedule dinner at church, or meet at a restaurant.

Q: This is sounding better and better, but I have kids.  What happens to them?
A: Childcare will be decided by the host and parents.

Q: What happens after our final gathering?
A: Hopefully, you will have had a wonderful experience and decide to continue to meet at a group outside of Tables for Faith.  You can also sign up for another round with another group.
