Our prayerful desire is that this form can help you think through the ministry opportunities that match your God given gifts and talents so that together with the right encouragement and support we can serve the Lord in our community and beyond effectively and in so doing faithfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus established his church to be his representative on earth until he comes again and it is an honor and privilege to do so both in witness and service.  Accomplishing this requires both a commitment of our time as well as financial resources.  First Baptist Church seeks to be transparent both in our gathering of resources as well as accountable in our use of them, not only to our members but to the Lord as well.  So we are trusting that optimizes both your enjoyment and passion of ministry and helps you be a blessing to others.
We are dependent upon getting a sense of your financial commitment so that we can be good stewards of those resources and understand our operating parameters.

October 17, 2021 is Commitment Sunday return your commitment forms by putting them in the offering plate, return them to the church office, or filling out this form at your convenience.  The Stewardship committee and the Church Council will be using your commitments to plan next year’s budget and outreach for the church.

We would like you to consider the effect your giving will have on the work of our Lord and in the lives of others.

Christian Education – Through the resources we receive we provide Christian education through our Sunday school classes, Children’s Church, VBS, Bible Studies, retreats and special conferences as well as through Right Now book and video resources for all our members.  This results in people being disciple and maturing in their understanding and service for the Gospel.

Missions—With the resources we receive we sponsor home missions with an emphasis upon the needs of our community as well as missions far beyond our borders through our affiliation with The American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware.  These efforts expand our witness for our Lord and help bring others to Christ.

Worship and Spiritual Care – The ministry of the Deacons is that of spiritual encouragement and support of our members through baptism and communion services to helping folks in crisis and sponsoring healing services.

Ministry Planning -- To prepare for the future with foresight and vision, is the responsibility of the Long Range Planning Board.  Our efforts help to bring collaboration to diverse ministry efforts so that we can remain growing, vibrant and relevant as we move into the future.

Maintenance and Investment – The board of Trustees is charged with financial planning and stewardship of the resources we receive both from our congregational giving and legacy funds as well as the maintenance of the church properties making sure we have a comfortable and sound environment to worship, fellowship, and learn.
