Japan Society is a nonprofit organization focused on bringing Japan and the USA together in America’s largest city. Our Film program reaches over 15,000 passionate filmgoers and presents a year-round survey of Japanese cinema from the silent era through to contemporary premieres, including JAPAN CUTS - the largest contemporary Japanese film festival in North America.
We present both significant and overlooked Japanese cinema, our events are often the only screenings many films receive in the US, and they wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of governmental, foundation, and corporate donors. We would love your help to support Japanese cinema in New York!
