The Droid Racing Challenge tasks undergraduate university students to design and build a fully autonomous robot or ‘droid’ that uses computer vision to race around a track and avoid obstacles. Most robots have been
built around existing RC car chassis but all use varying control and computer vision methods to achieve the goal. Teams will be judged on who can complete the track the fastest, as well as design and obstacle avoidance.
The challenge is sponsored by MathWorks, Boeing Australia, and the Queensland University of Technology.
This years competition will be held on the 12th and 13th July at QUT Gardens Point Campus. If restrictions due to the ongoing situation with COVID19, stop teams from attending we have plans that will still allow DRC to be a physical event for everyone.
