The following criteria apply to all Hall of Fame nominees living or deceased

Criteria for Eligibility (Student Athlete)
- Former Student Athlete and graduated of Belleville High School
- Minimum of six years must have passed following graduation year
- Former Student Athlete must have excelled while representing Belleville High School
- Former Student Athlete must have represented Belleville High School honorably

Criteria for Eligibility (Teams - Only one per induction year)
- Must have been a Belleville High School Varsity team
- Minimum of six years must have passed following championship season

Criteria for Eligibility (Coach)
- Must have exemplified commitment and passion for coaching
- Must have coached for a minimum of five consecutive years in the sport at Belleville High School
- Must have had outstanding results within his/her program
- Must have represented Belleville High School honorably

Criteria for Eligibility (Special Contributor or Special Achievement - Only one per induction year)
- Special Contributor:  Any individual that lends exemplary support and passion in the assistance of promoting the Belleville High School athletic program through service and donation of time, leadership, talent or funding
- Special Achievement:  Any former Student Athlete that gains recognition in an athletic or professional field after graduation from Belleville High School
